Absentee Voting By Mail

First day Iowans can mail a request to their County Auditor to receive an Absentee Ballot by mail starting .

The original, signed request form must be received in your county auditor’s office by 5:00 p.m. on May 18th, 2026.
After receiving your request form, the county auditor will mail you a ballot.
Important Primary Election Dates for Voters
​March 24th -
1st day to request Absentee Ballot

​May 18th by 5:00 PM -
Last day to request Absentee Ballot to be mailed
​
May 13th thru June 1st –
Early Voting at the Courthouse
​
June 2nd –
Absentee Ballot must be in Auditor’s office by close of polls at 8pm
​
Tuesday, June 2nd -
Polls are open 7am-8pm
